Pyxism Leaders, The ABN and What’s A Forced Matrix Anyway?

Which Pyxism Leaders actually achieve the kinds of income that all network marketing companies proudly boast that it’s so easy to make and what’s a Forced Matrix Compensation Plan Anyway? Let me explain…

It never ceases to amaze me how much you learn from reviewing a company.

Today I learned, and hopefully you will learn a bit about this too, what a Forced Matrix System is and how this relates to The Pyxism Business Opportunity.

First of all I’ll make it clear upfront: I am NOT a Pyxism member and I have no intention of signing up. I Love the company I’m in with a Passion.

The Pyxism company Owner and founder is LLoyd Wilson and this is his Home based business opportunity.

Now the absolute key factor you need to know when selecting a home based business company to join is this, Does it actually sell a product and or service that will add value to the purchaser?

This is essential because with out a product to sell, all you have is a company that shifts money around and recruits people to shift more money around, and on and on the cycle goes with out ever adding any true vale or service to anybody.

In the case of  Pyxism there are travel based products that are being sold. You buy Vacations, cruises etc… so I’d have to say that this factor is taken care of. While I won’t go into all the exact details of the Pyxism compensation plan, and of course people can make money in virtually any comp plan can’t they?, I will say this, Pyxism uses a 2 x 2 Forced Matrix type of plan.

My Understanding of it is this (And correct me if I’m wrong by leaving a comment on this post so I can correct this) :

You recruit 2 then you go to the next level and they recruit 2 each and everyone moves up and once you reach 6 people all up, your matrix is full and the cycle repeats and you get a pay off each cycle and then it doubles and so on.

Now, I only just learnt what a Forced Matrix is whilst I was conducting my research for this review and I’ll be completely honest and tell you that going through the Pyxism introduction video It looked pretty awesome.

Here’s the thing, when I came across the word matrix, it triggered something in my mind.

You see as an ABN member, (Click on the little green and blue badge over on the right under my video on this page and read this for your self) Number 4 of the ABN’s Better Business Practices says this, (to which I am bound): They do not represent, endorse, or promote “forced-matrix” programs.

Now I want you to be very clear here, I am NOT negative towards Pyxism the company or LLoyd Wilson in any way shape or form. What I’m talking about now is The Forced Matrix compensation plan in general in any company.

Here’s the full list to which I am bound:

The ABN’s Better Business Practices

Pyxism Leaders, The ABN and Whats A Forced Matrix Anyway?

  1. They must have a “zero spam” policy and must not send unsolicited emails to their team members, customers, or prospects. All mass email correspondence must be CAN-SPAM compliant and contain an “unsubscribe” link for easy removal from their lists. They respect the privacy of individuals and will not sell or distribute their contact information to a third party without their permission.
  2. The company(s) they represent is in good standing with the FTC and sells value-based products that improve the lives of their customers.
  3. They do not represent, endorse, or promote illegal pyramid schemes, or “cash-gifting” programs.
  4. They do not represent, endorse, or promote “forced-matrix” programs.
  5. They pledge to provide training and support to their team members, and make their contact information readily available to customers and/or distributors.
  6. They pledge to conduct their business with honesty and integrity, and value these traits above any financial gain they may receive by violating them.
  7. They will continually further their education and development as an entrepreneur so they may earn the level of success they desire.

You can see that I have chosen to align myself with true leaders in this industry.

Whilst Pyxism is, as far as I can tell, an honest company, with integrity etc… I’d suggest you research WHY the ABN chooses to make this forced matrix practice, Number 4 out of only 7 practices to follow.

I’ve made this a little easier for you:

I decided to stop researching the Pyxism Opportunity for a while and studied up on what a forced matrix actually is and why the ABN take this stand.

Rather than me going in to every detail I’ll share a few replies to the forum in Better Networker on this subject.

Here’s the Original Post and you’ll see that Mike Dillard himself comes in and explains why:

And as I said earlier all these opinions, mentioned by 3rd party individuals, have no bearing on Pyxism at all. They are purely based on generic Ideas.

Educate me on Forced Matrix Comp Plans

Pyxism Leaders, The ABN and Whats A Forced Matrix Anyway?by David Wilcoxson on Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:31 am

In the latest Inner Circle newsletter Mike Dillard mentioned that being an ABN member included a code of conduct that all ABNers must abide by, and included in them was the following agreement:

As an ABN member, I do not represent, endorse, or promote ‘forced-matrix‘ programs.”

I’ve worked in uni-level plans and binary plans, but not forced-matrix, so here’s my question:

What are the NEGATIVES of forced-matrix plans that would cause Mike to make this rule?

Thanks for your input! David

Hey David:

Very good question – Forced Matrix Comp Plans.

I’m sure that ‘accepting’ this [additional] requirement for becoming an ABN member likely upset some people.

Here are my own comments on this – hope they help…

Breakage – The most money to be made in a Matrix pay plan is in the ‘higher’ levels, where the Matrix is widest. For example – in a 3 x 12 Martix – it’s usually the 9th – 12 th level where you make the most money – but it’s very unlikely you will ever make money on those levels. Why? Because most MLM Comp Plans are set up so that you have to fill your ‘Matrix one person or one position’ at a time – starting on your first level. Then you have to fill your second level – then your third – then your fourth – and so on.

So unless you are an “MLM recruiting machine”, this is pretty much an impossible task. And, if the people you recruit do “nothing” – or can’t recruit – then your Matrix will likely stall out – and you give up. You have put in a lot of effort, and made “nothing” – not one single penny – because the money is made at the bigger commission levels, where the Matrix is the widest.

And guess what? => if you never fill your Matrix – and you never “reach” the larger commission levels of the Matrix – who do you think gets that money? => The owner of that Matrix Comp Plan.

It’s called “breakage” in favor of the company.

———————————————————————————————————————

High ‘Numbers’ – The sheer “number of people” needed to fill a Matrix is usually very high. For example, in that same 3 x 12 Matrix – to fill one this size – if you are recruiting one person at a time, and filling one position at a time, you would need 1000’s of like-minded people, all referring at least 3 people each. Now the truth is, it’s highly unlikely you will ever fill a Matrix that size (I don’t know of anyone who has done it, and I have been in this industry a long time. Unless you have a team of “thousands” – the numbers and the nature of a Matrix is usually working against you from the start.

———————————————————————————————————————

Retention – Most Matrix Comp Plans with a monthly fee are nearly impossible to fill because by the time you recruit someone, they “do nothing” or are unable to market their MLM – so they drop out (or become inactive) leaving you to fill that same position again. This can become frustrating, discouraging and depressing – but this is the main reason that 97% of those who join an MLM fail ((quit)). This in turn, gives our industry one more “black eye”.

———————————————————————————————————————

Spillover – The promise of “spillover” tends to attract a different mentality – those who will “want” something for nothing” – those who tend to be lazy – who rely on “others” to do all the work.

———————————————————————————————————————

Matrix Plans (Rod Cook // MLMWatchdog) – You can also see what a good friend, and a very respected industry Consultant says about Matrix Plans (I was proud to serve with Rod on the Board Of Directors of our DRA (Distributor Rights Association), for almost 4 years, representing my country of Canada.

Unilevel – Although some will disagree, my own observation is that the favourite Comp Plan in the industry is likely the UNILEVEL – as it is wiith the regulators. It seems to be the easiest to understand – the simplest to explain to others – the one that rewards the ‘right behaviors’ in the field – and the fairest, to both part-timers and full-timers.

Personally, I accept this requirement about Matrix Comp Plans by ABN.

Hope the above is useful.

Sincerely / Peter A.

Thank you Peter for all of your great input. I linked out to Rod Cooks site and found more information. I’m beginning to see why there’s a negative association with this comp plan. David

Forced Matrix comp plans are looked down upon because they are typically only used by here-today, gone tomorrow companies, or out-right scams that would not pass FTC scrutiny.

After writing this review I recieved a great comment from Windsor who had this to say:

Dear Peter,

I have a lot of respect for Mike Dillard, however the comparisons that have been offered in this stream do not represent fairly the Cycling Matrix built into Pyxism. Force filled matrixes can take thousands of people to generate the type of income hyped by some opportunties- they fill from the bottom up. Pyxism’s matrices fill from the TOP down. Your description and understanding is inaccurate. Because Pyxism is a 2×2 true follow your sponsor system, it does not have the unfair structure associated with the majority of force-filled matrixes where leaders are the only ones with true potential to earn. Lloyd Wilson is building his company with ethics and vision such that every associate has equal opportunity to generate life changing income. In fact, Lloyd completely restructured the compensation plan from its initial launch because he recognized that associates would not be generating the income he envisioned quickly enough. He is building this company slow and steady, all the while ensuring compliance, ethics, and the ability for EVERY associate to succeed is the rule, not the exception. This is something that Pyxism’s leaders know very well indeed. I’m glad that you’re satisfied with your own opportunity and that you have a passion for it. Why you would post an incomplete and misleading review on another company is perplexing.

To which i replied:

Hey thanks for your excellent reply Windsor,
as I said in my post I have only just learnt about forced
matrix systems and also said the Pyxism one sounds like an awesome system.

I have no intention of misleading anyone and am really glad you came
here and cleared things up in such fine way.

I will actually edit the post and call attention to your comment so others can make
a more informed decision about the Pyxism opportunity based on your
experience with them.

Thanks again for you input here Windsor I found it really helpful and insightful.

And there you have it.

So what next?

If you’re in Pyxism and you love it then great!  Work hard and teach your team valuable marketing strategies and provide value to the world.

If you’re looking at joining Pyxism or any company my only advice is this:

Do your research, make sure you find a company, product line and compensation plan that really gels with you, and absolutely make sure you align yourself with a true leader in this profession, someone who can truly add value to you and show you how to market your business in the best and most ethical ways possible.

If you’d like me to be your Mentor and Attraction Marketing Coach then fill in the form right now and I’ll teach you step by step how to grow your online home based business, regardless of which company you’re in.
